The Google Pixel 4 was launched in October 2019, while the Samsung Galaxy S10 was made available in February 2019. Both are the flagship phones from their respective companies and both have their pros and cons.

In this article, we are going to briefly compare both phones with each other to make it easier for you to decide which phone you really want to go with if you are to make a choice.
Specs

Design
Although metal and glass are used in the construction of both of the phones, they are not similar to each other in terms of design. The first difference is that Pixel 4 doesn’t have a slippery finish, while Galaxy S10 is shiny and slippery to a fair extent. It is worth mentioning that there are three color variants the Pixel 4 is available in. And out of those variants, the black one comes with a glossy back. The other two variants come with matte finished glass. The major advantage of matte finish is that it doesn’t attract fingerprints like glossy finish. The Pixel 4’s display is flat, while S10’s display is curved from the sides.
There is no notch on the top of the Pixel 4’s display. Instead, there is a larger forehead which contains a number of sensors including a sefie cam and a depth radar sensor. On the other hand, the Galaxy S10 comes with much thinner bezels. The S10’s screen is also without a notch but there is a camera hole on the right top corner of the display. That looks pretty amazing though.
Display
The display of both, Google Pixel 4 and Samsung Galaxy S10, is great. Although you may not feel it, but there is a difference between both of the displays. The display of Pixel 4 is lower as compared to that of Galaxy S10 but that difference is practically nullified with a 90Hz refresh rate of Pixel 4’s screen.
Pixel 4 comes with a 5.7-inch FHD+ (2280 x 1080) display, while Galaxy S10 uses a 6.1-inch QHD+ (3040 x 1440) display. The aspect ratio in both of the handsets’ displays is 19:9. Google Pixel 4’s screen supports HDR content while Galaxy S10’s display comes with HDR10+ support.
Performance
From the perspective of processing and graphics, both of the phones perform incredibly great. However, Pixel 4 may be a step ahead of Galaxy S10 from certain perspectives. The performance of Galaxy S10 was found a bit affected by few hiccups whereas Pixel 4’s performance was found up to the mark in lab tests.
It may be worth mentioning here that Galaxy S10 comes with an 8GB RAM, while Pixel 4 is equipped with 6GB RAM. Both are powered by Snapdragon 855. The reason Pixel 4 performs better than S10 is its nicely optimized hardware and fully supportive OS. The 90Hz refresh rate in the screen of Pixel 4 makes things look even better.
Battery
Battery performance is where Google Pixel 4 seems underperforming. The 2,800mAh battery simply seems insufficient for the high-end specs which are loaded into the handset. Furthermore, a screen refresh rate of 90Hz makes the battery drainage frustratingly faster.
Galaxy S10, on the other hand, sports a much better performance with the help of a capacity 3.400mAh battery unit. The best thing about this battery unit is that it powers the handset for enough time to make it easily pass the 5-hour screen-on-time mark.
Cameras
There are two cameras on the rear side, and one on the front side of Pixel 4. On the other hand, Galaxy S10 has three cameras on the backside and one on the front side. While Samsung Galaxy handsets are known for being the best camera-bearer phones, the Google seems to have acquired that crown with the help of top of the line sensors which it has installed in its Pixel 4 series. But it doesn’t mean that Galaxy S10 cameras are slouch.
The Pixel 4 has two camera sensors which include a main lens and a telephoto lens on its rear side. Galaxy S10 utilizes an additional ultra-wide lens to have an upper hand from the perspective of hardware in this competition. However, the Pixel 4’s camera hardware uses AI based camera software which is highly capable to take high quality photos in high as well as low light.
