A brief comparison between Google Pixel 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10

Both Google Pixel 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10 are the flagship handsets with very capable hardware and software. And since they are the smaller alternatives of their more capable siblings, both qualify well to be put in comparison with each other.

Here is what you may want to know about both of these handsets.

Specs

Design

From the perspective of design, both of the handsets differ from each other. Google pixel 4 is a smaller phone with flat finishes on both, front and back, sides. On the other hand, Galaxy Note 10 has more curves in its design; and it is quite a slippery phone.

Looking at the dimensions, you will find Galaxy S10 thinner, wider and taller than Pixel 4. The bezels on Pixel 4 are bigger, especially one on the top of the screen. It is widely regarded as the ‘forehead’. On the other hand, Galaxy Note 10 has an edge-to-edge display with negligibly-sized bezels on two sides of the screen. The bottom and top bezels are just a bit larger.

Pixel 4 doesn’t have a slippery design; and it seems Google has done it on purpose. The matte finish on the back and rubberized coating on the rim that runs along the sides of the phone make the phone very easy to hold. But yes, the design of Galaxy Note 10 is more admirable.

Display

Both of the phones are equipped with OLED displays. However, they emerge completely difference from each other on paper during the comparison. For instance, the Pixel 4 uses a 5.7-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) flexible OLED panel, and the Galaxy Note 10 coms with a 6.3-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) Dynamic AMOLED display.

The curved screen of Note 10 looks good at first glance but you are going to find Pixel 4’s flat screen functionally better. Furthermore, a screen refresh rate of 90Hz is something that makes the Pixel 4’s use much smoother than many other handsets available in the market.

HDR content is supported by displays of both of the phones.

Performance

Both Pixel 4 and Galaxy Note use high end specs. But the specs might be a bit different in both of the handsets. Both handsets utilize Snapdragon 855 chipset which is quite a powerhouse. Pixel 4 comes with 6GB of RAM while Note 10 uses 8GB of RAM. The flash storage used by Galaxy Note 10 in UFS 3.0, while Pixel 4 uses UFS 2.1.

While the specs of Galaxy Note 10 look a bit better on paper, the types of software being used in the phones make things even. And the ultimate result comes in the form of two handsets with fairly equal capability to perform.

Battery

Pixel 4 comes with awkwardly short battery life, while Note 10 emerges as a winner in this competition. The 2,800mAh battery simply sounds insufficient for the likes of specs that Pixel 4 is equipped with. On the other, things look fairly balanced in the Note 10 due to its 3,500mAh battery.

Cameras

The type of camera system Pixel 4 uses makes this phone the ultimate winner against a majority of flagships from several manufacturers. But let’s be clear about one thing; Note 10 cameras lag only a fraction behind in this competition. The Pixel 4’s capability to take photos in high and low light is better than that of Note 10.
